“McLaren” pilots Lando Noriss svētdien izcīnīja uzvaru Pirmās formulas (F-1) pasaules čempionāta sezonas sestajā posmā – Maiami “Grand Prix” – un svinēja savu pirmo uzvaru karjerā.
24 gadus vecajam Lielbritānijas pilotam Norisam šīs bija 110.sacensības karjerā un iepriekš viņš 15 reizes bija kāpis uz goda pjedestāla, bet ne reizi uz augstākā pakāpiena.
Kvalifikācijā uzvarējušais “Red Bull” pilots Makss Verstapens startā nosargāja līderpozīciju un viņam sekoja Šarls Leklērs (“Ferrari”), kuru vēlāk apdzina četru pozīciju kāpumu veikušais Oskars Pjastri (“McLaren”).
Būtiskākais pavērsiens bija sacīkšu vidū, kad Noriss bija vienīgais no vadošajiem pilotiem, kas nebija devies boksos un atradās līderpozīcijā. Tobrīd trasē devās drošības mašīna un brits šo brīdi izmantoja, lai dotos pitstopā, tādējādi saglabājot līderpozīciju.
Turpinājumā “McLaren” pilots palielināja ātrumu un attālinājās no otrajā pozīcijā esošā Verstapena, neatstājot pēdējo trīs sezonu čempionam nekādas cerības uz uzvaru. Trešais finišēja Leklērs.
Ceturtajā vietā palika otrs “Ferrari” pilots Karloss Sainss juniors, piektais bija Verstapena komandas biedrs Serhio Peress, sestais finišēja Lūiss Hamiltons (“Mercedes”), septītais bija Juki Cunoda (RB), astotais – Džordžs Rasels (“Mercedes”), devītais – Fernando Alonso (“Aston Martin”), bet kā pēdējais pie punkta – sava un komandas pirmā sezonā – tika Estebans Okons (“Alpine”).
Pjastri sacīkšu otrajā pusē cīņā ar Sainsu sabojāja priekšējo antispārnu, kā dēļ bija spiests vēlreiz doties boksos, toties 13.vietā finišējušais austrālietis uzrādīja ātrāko apļa laiku.
Pasaules čempionāta kopvērtējumā līderis ar 136 punktiem ir Verstapens, otro vietu ar 101 punktu ieņem Peress, trešais ar 98 punktiem ir Leklērs, 85 punktus iekrājis Sainss, bet 83 punkti ir Norisam.
Šosezon F-1 čempionātā tiks aizvadīti 24 posmi.
