“Mavericks” neatklāj termiņu, uz kādu noslēgts līgums, vien min, ka tas “pagarināts uz vairākiem gadiem”.
“Treneris Kids tuvākajos gados vadīs mūsu komandu pēc šīs līguma pagarināšanas,” sacīja “Mavericks” vadītājs Patriks Dimons. “Kids divreiz trīs sezonu laikā ar mūsu komandu iekļuva izslēgšanas spēlēs.”
“Es pazīstu Kidu jau ilgu laiku un nevaru iedomāties labāku un kvalificētāku kandidātu šīs komandas vadīšanai,” sacīja kluba ģenerālmenedžeris Niko Herisons. “Kā NBA Slavas zāles spēlētājs viņš trenera lomā sniedz lielu pieredzi un zināšanas, kas nav atkārtojamas, un viņš ir izpelnījies gan mūsu, gan daudzu citu līgas spēlētāju uzticību un cieņu visā līgā.”
Kids trenē komandu trešo sezonu, pamatturnīrā sasniedzot bilanci 140-106, bet izslēgšanas spēlēs – 13-11. Kida pirmajā sezonā “Mavericks” viņš palīdzēja tai sasniegt bilanci pamatturnīrā 52-30 un iekļūt Rietumu konferences finālā.
Šosezon “Mavericks” ar bilanci 50-32 tikai piekto reizi kluba vēsturē izcīnīja Dienvidrietumu divīzijas čempionu titulu, bet izslēgšanas spēļu pirmajā kārtā uzvarēja Losandželosas “Clippers” un otrdien sāks Rietumu konferences pusfinālsēriju Oklahomasitijā.
