“Cavaliers” savā laukumā notikušajā mačā ar rezultātu 106:94 (18:24, 25:29, 33:15, 30:26) pārspēja Orlando “Magic” un sērijā līdz četrām uzvarām panāca 4-3.
Viesi vienubrīd bija vadībā pat ar 18 punktiem, taču trešajā ceturtdaļā iemeta par 16 punktiem mazāk nekā pretinieki, vēlāk jau priekšā izvirzoties “Cavaliers” vienībai.
Donovans Mičels uzvarētājiem izcēlās ar 39 punktiem, deviņām atlēkušajām bumbām un piecām rezultatīvām piespēlēm, 15 punktus guva Keriss Leverts, 13 – Makss Strass, 12 – Dariuss Gārlends, bet 11 punkti, 16 atlēkušās bumbas un pieci bloķēti metieni bija Evanam Moblijam.
“Magic” komandā Paolo Bankēro guva 38 punktus un izcīnīja 16 atlēkušās bumbas, Vendelam Kārteram junioram bija 13 punkti.
Pusfināla sērijas pirmā spēle paredzēta otrdien. Porziņģis pusfinālā, iespējams, nespēlēs, jo ceturtdaļfināla sērijā, kurā bostonieši ar 4-1 pārspēja Maiami “Heat”, latvietis guva traumu.
Par otru vietu konferences finālā cīnīsies Indiānas “Pacers” un Ņujorkas “Knicks”.
Iepriekšējā sezonā finālsērijā Denveras “Nuggets” ar 4-1 uzvarēja Maiami “Heat” un pirmo reizi vēsturē izcīnīja NBA čempiontitulu.
